Julia K. Doyle

Ms. Doyle is an experienced litigator, specializing in commercial disputes, insurance coverage, employment and antitrust law. Her commercial practice includes advising professionals in connection with disputes in a partnership or professional services corporation setting. She is the author of Breaking Up Is Hard To Do: Compensation Rights of Predecessor Counsel, 71 NWLawyer 9 (Dec. 2017/Jan. 2018).  She also advises for-profit and non-profit corporate clients in connection with various legal and governance challenges. 

Prior to joining Smith & Hennessey PLLC, Ms. Doyle worked as an associate at Condon & Forsyth LLP in Los Angeles, with a focus on aviation litigation. Her former clients include British Airways, Qantas Airways, LAN Airlines, China Airlines, Philippine Airlines and Air France-KLM. She is the co-author of “The Montreal Convention and the Passenger Bill of Rights” (CCH 2008), and a contributing author of The Liability Reporter, Vol. 13 (IATA 2010).

Ms. Doyle received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara (B.A., Honors, Communications and Slavic Languages & Literature, 1999). After several years of working as a web developer, she redirected her career path and graduated from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 2006 in the top 30% of her class.

While at Loyola, Ms. Doyle earned placement on the Dean’s Honor List and served as Production Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review in 2005-2006. During law school, she also was the proud recipient of the Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship and twice participated in the annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. In 2004, she completed a course of study in Comparative Tort Law and International Arbitration at the University of Bologna.

Ms. Doyle enjoys a Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating of “AV Preeminent” in the practice areas of commercial and business litigation. She is admitted to practice in California (2006) and Washington State (2011), and before the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of California, the Western District of Washington, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Doyle is fluent in Russian. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association of the Western District of Washington, and Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association of Seattle.
